CMC TEXPAN Presents LYNX: An Effective Solution for Detecting and Removing Contaminants from Wood Particles
Meeting sustainability requirements is becoming increasingly important in the production of wood-based panels. At the same time, ensuring excellent quality of finished products is a top priority, especially in wood recycling. Since the processed material contains various contaminants, achieving effective cleaning of recycled wood is crucial in preparing the raw material. CMC TEXPAN has recently developed LYNX, an innovative solution for detecting contaminants and removing them from the milled particle flow used to produce wood-based panels. The LYNX machine is compact and utilizes SWIR spectroscopy, an evolution of the NIR system. It is specifically designed to remove contaminants such as plastics, foam, silicone, and polystyrene. The machine can be equipped with optional accessories to detect particles by color or with an X-ray system to enhance efficiency by detecting and removing higher density materials like ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, copper, lead, and various alloys. Thus, the LYNX equipment is also suitable for applications beyond the woodworking industry.
