Magnetic drum - SM
The magnetic drum consists of a rotating drum out of stainless steel. The drum includes a fixed shaft holding a half moon magnet element made of a soft iron support, onto which neodymium permanent magnets are fitted. As the drum rotates, wooden material will be conveyed towards a discharge hopper, while ferrous components will be retained on the drum surface until they are in the area equipped with the magnet element located inside, then they are released when they reach the non-magnetized area.
Concerning the removal of any possible metal contaminants which could considerably damage the machines, it possible to propose several solutions, suitable for any kind of applications and based on different magnetic systems.
